Whilst making phone calls is not as popular as it used to be, prospects will still call if they are keen to do business with your firm.
The problem occurs when they call at 4pm on a Friday when the time is good for them, but you have gone home early and so have your staff.
This leaves the dreaded voicemail. “I’m sorry but ABC Accountants isn’t available right now, but if you leave your name and number we will get right back to you.”
While this message is ‘nice’ it’s not great for building relationships.
Why not use the voicemail message to direct the caller to your website so they can get some value from their call.
“Thank you for calling ABC Accountants. We’re not available right now but do visit our website www.abcaccountants.com to download your free eBook ‘7 Mistakes Businesses Make When Changing Accountants’. Do leave your name, number and a short message and we will get back to you shortly.”
A message like this makes the caller feel valued, and directs them to take another step on the buyers journey with your firm.
