Your shop front should make it clear as to what you do, and who you serve.

You don’t have to be Apple, Ikea or John Lewis to have an amazing shop front, and in fact you don’t even need a shop front. But what you do need is a clear strong brand. Whether you have premises for your accounting firm, or run your enquiries through a website and social media, the principles remain the same:

  • You need strong brand colours that are consistent throughout
  • The way you meet and greet your “visitors” needs to be inline with your brand
  • And the way you make your visitors “feel” when they visit you needs to be considered.

When you design and produce your shop front, be it a physical address or a website address, these things need to be taken into consideration.

All too often though I see time and effort put into physical premises but no real though put into your websites.

Remember that first impressions count. It is not enough to think that “its ok, and it will do” because it won’t. Just like you clean up your office, you also need to clean up your website. Same principles apply.
